  • You deserve to be safe in your home, your family deserves to be safe in your neighborhood and your kids deserve to be safe in school. I support law enforcement, and enforcing the law; I will work to make our community and your neighborhood safe.
  • You play by the rules and work hard but today it’s so hard to get ahead.. Politicians continue to take more of your paycheck to give favors to  their political friends and grow big government, spending more and leaving less for you and your family to live on.

AFFORDABILITY

(Gas, Groceries, Energy, Housing)

  • The cost of groceries, housing and utilities are out of control.  And, politicians have made it worse.
  • While working people struggle to make ends meet, politicians in Lansing have wasted money on splash pads, cricket fields, and billions in corporate welfare, but still haven’t fixed our critical roads and bridges.  While we have to work for our money, they have repeatedly taken our taxes to give them to big international companies that are laying off Michigan workers. 
  • The  American Dream shouldn’t be just a memory, it should be our future.  But, today for way too many people no matter how hard you work, it’s impossible to get ahead or let alone plan  summer vacation or find money for a broken furnace. It’s not fair. And it’s the number one problem our leaders in government should be focused on solving. I know one thing for sure, the government keeps expanding and spending your money, driving up interest and our cost of living.
  • One of the first things Liberal extremists did (HB4001) was to raise your income taxes to fund special deals to big companies who have laid off Michigan workers.

FAIRNESS

  • If Michigan’s workers have to pay their taxes, big companies or Hollywood elites shouldn’t get special tax deals.
  • Rather than taking even more of your money to make ‘feel good’ promises or reward campaign donors, the state should be funding our students, fixing our roads and returning money to our local police and fire services.
  • These days the government makes it too hard, too complicated and too unfair. It seems like the only people who “get ahead” are the powerful people who started out ahead. We need to change this. We need to knock down barriers, cut red tape and make government work for people, not the other way around.
  • People of good faith get mocked by today’s media.  Parents who are concerned about what their kids get taught get ignored.  And, it should be common sense that to protect our daughters only girls should compete in girls’ sports.
  • Liberal extremists claim to value fairness but is truly only interested in supporting the needs of political allies and campaign donors.

E

EDUCATION

(Education Freedom, Non-College Options, Basic Values)

  • Education is the key that unlocks opportunity and success, but government should not be dictating to parents what education is best for their child or using a child’s education to advance a political agenda.
  • Right now Liberal extremists have spent more time securing kickbacks for members of the teachers’ union than making sure our kids can read and do math at a basic level.
  • The simple fact is that free preschool and free lunch won’t help our kids’ futures if the education they are receiving is bad
  • Every child is unique.  You should be in control of your kids’ education, not liberal elites.. I will always support families’ freedom and the right of every parent to make the best decisions for their child.  And, I will work to be sure you get the extra help and support you need (i.e. reading scholarships.)

ABORTION

  • I value a culture of life which starts with having the kind of state where families can easily live, work, and raise a family.
  • While I am personally pro-life, I can’t imagine what it is like to be faced with an unwanted pregnancy; it has to be overwhelming.
  • We need to do everything in our power to make sure women faced with these circumstances are supported and that means supporting policies like better access to prenatal care and early childhood education.

    • Even though most people do agree with limitations, any time the words limitations or bans come in, we lose voters, especially swing voters and the media and Democrats only focus on the word “ban.”

    • As you know, abortion is legal in Michigan.
    • There is nothing that can be done in our state legislature to change that – meaning there is nothing I could do to alter that reality. Women in Michigan are able to choose abortion for any reason at any time during their pregnancy.
    • I am pro life. I believe we can and should offer tangible, ongoing support to women who find themselves unexpectedly pregnant and help them make a courageous, hopeful choice for life. I have a long record of supporting the cause for life, and I am proud of that record.
    • For “choice” to truly exist, abortion should not be the only answer. For “choice” to truly exist, women must also have every opportunity to make a choice for life.
  • National Ban:
    • Abortion is NOT under threat in Michigan.
    • As everyone knows, in 2022, Michigan citizens voted to put a “right” to abortion in our state constitution. Women in Michigan can have an abortion at any point in their pregnancy for virtually any reason as a result of Proposal 3 passing.
    • There is nothing that can be done in our state legislature to change that reality. Also, do not let the Democrats scare you with the threat of a “national ban” – what they are referring to is not a “ban” at all, but a gestational limit on the weeks in which a woman can get an abortion. Let me be very clear, a national limit on abortion has no path forward in Congress. (Senate leadership even on the GOP side has indicated an unwillingness to bring the issue up. Beyond that, it would need 60 votes to override an almost certain filibuster.)

    • I am focused on what impacts Michigan citizens. Democrats in our state are wildly out of step with Michigan voters, opposing even:
  • Parental consent for a minor seeking an abortion
    • Protections for taxpayers so their hard-earned money isn’t siphoned away to pay for other people’s elective abortions (which they just attempted to remove from Michigan law and faced opposition even in their own ranks).
    • A woman’s right to know through informed consent for an abortion and the safety 24-hour waiting period (which they just attempted to remove from Michigan law and faced opposition even in their own ranks).
